Stay ahead of the market, get real-time stock news delivered straight to your Telegram, the moment it happens.
Why Telegram Alerts?
Prysm's stock news alerts keep you informed the instant something moves on the stocks you track, earnings results, AGM notices, regulatory filings, and more. With Telegram integration, your bot delivers these alerts directly into your chat, so you never miss a beat even when you're away from the screen.
What You'll Need
Before getting started, make sure you have:
- •A Prysm Pro account (alerts are a Pro feature)
- •The Telegram app installed on your phone or desktop
- •~5 minutes to complete the setup
Step 1: Create Your Telegram Bot via BotFather
You'll need your own Telegram bot to receive alerts. Telegram's official BotFather makes this straightforward.
- Open Telegram and search for @BotFather
- Send the command
/newbot - Choose a name for your bot (e.g., My Prysm Alerts)
- Choose a username ending in
bot(e.g.,myprysmalerts_bot) - BotFather will reply with your Bot Token — a string that looks like
7123456789:AAFxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

🔐 Keep this token private. It gives full control over your bot.
Step 2: Connect Your Bot to Prysm
2a. Save Your Bot Token
- Navigate to your Profile page on Prysm (
/profile) - Find the Telegram Alerts section and click Connect Telegram
- Paste the Bot Token you copied from BotFather into the input field
- Click Save Token
Prysm will instantly validate the token with Telegram. On success, you'll see your bot's username confirmed on screen.
⚠️ Troubleshooting:
- •"Invalid token format" — Double-check you copied the full token from BotFather, including the numbers before the colon.
- •"Could not reach Telegram API" — Telegram may be temporarily unavailable. Wait a moment and try again.
2b. Activate Your Bot (Important!)
Before Prysm can send you messages, you must start a conversation with your bot so Telegram grants it permission to message you.
- Open Telegram
- Search for your bot by the username BotFather gave you (e.g.,
@myprysmalerts_bot) - Open the chat and tap Start, or simply send any message like
hello
Once you've done that, come back to Prysm.
2c. Verify the Connection
- Back on your Prysm Profile page, click Verify Connection
- If everything is set up correctly, Prysm will confirm the link and you'll receive a message in Telegram:
✅ Your bot is now connected

Your profile will now show telegram_linked: true and you're ready to create alerts.
⚠️ Troubleshooting:
- •"No messages found" — You haven't sent a message to your bot yet. Go to Telegram, send your bot any message, then click Verify Connection again.
- •"Could not resolve chat" — Make sure you're messaging the bot directly (not adding it to a group). Direct messages only.
- •"Bot connected but message delivery failed" — Your bot may be blocked. Open Telegram, search for your bot, and make sure the chat is not blocked.
- •"No bot token found" — Go back to Step 2a and save your token first before verifying.
Step 3: Create a Stock News Alert
Now the fun part — setting alerts on the stocks you care about.
Via the Alerts Page (Recommended)
- Go to the Alerts section in Prysm
- Click Create Alert
- Search for and select your stocks (e.g.,
RELIANCE,INFY,HDFCBANK) - Under Delivery, select Telegram
- Optionally, filter by news category (e.g., Results, AGM, Regulatory) — leave blank to receive all news
- Click Create — you'll receive a sample message on your Telegram immediately to confirm it's working 🎉

Via the AI Assistant
You can also ask Prysm's AI directly:
"Set up a Telegram alert for RELIANCE and HDFCBANK"
The AI will create the alert for you. If your Telegram isn't connected yet, it'll prompt you to complete the setup first.
