Alembic Pharmaceuticals Limited has announced the appointment of Mr. Tushar Mehta as the Head-R&D (API) of the Company. This appointment is effective from 3rd June, 2026, and he will be designated as Senior Management Personnel. Mr. Mehta brings over 24 years of extensive experience in API R&D. He has a proven track record of leading more than 100 API development programs, with over 45 successfully commercialized. He has managed R&D teams of up to 200 scientists, filed numerous US DMFs, and navigated projects through FDA and EMA regulations. His expertise spans small-molecule APIs, including complex areas like oncology and antiviral products such as Remdesivir and Molnupiravir, as well as statins and other advanced APIs. Prior to joining Alembic Pharmaceuticals, Mr. Mehta held significant R&D leadership positions, including SVP & Head – R&D (API) at Cadila Pharmaceuticals. He also has prior experience with companies like Piramal (O2h), Ami Life Sciences, and BDR Life Sciences.
