Aurobindo Pharma Limited has issued a clarification regarding a media report stating that its Non-Executive Director, Mr. P. Sarath Chandra Reddy, has been acquitted in the Delhi Liquor Scam case. The company confirmed that on February 27, 2026, the Court of Sh. Jitendra Singh, Special Judge (PC Act) (CBI) -23, Rouse Avenue Court Complex, New Delhi, discharged Mr. Reddy along with 22 other accused. This discharge occurred in CBI Case No. 56/2022, titled “CBI Vs. Kuldeep Singh & Ors.”, following extensive arguments and examination of evidence presented by the CBI. Mr. P. Sarath Chandra Reddy was added as Accused No. 23 in a fourth supplementary chargesheet dated July 29, 2024, stemming from FIR No. RC0032022A0053 dated August 17, 2022, lodged by CBI/ACB under Sections 120-B, 420, and 201 of the IPC and provisions of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988. The Court's decision was based on a thorough analysis of the allegations, with the judge inter alia holding that there was no material evidence to suggest Mr. Reddy participated in any conspiracy, influenced any public servant, paid or received any illegal gratification, or obtained any unlawful benefit related to the Delhi Liquor Policy. The Court also expressed its inability to comprehend the basis for arraying Mr. Reddy as an accused. Consequently, Mr. P. Sarath Chandra Reddy has been discharged from all charges leveled by the CBI in this case.
