CG Power and Industrial Solutions Limited announced the commissioning of its new Extra High-Voltage (EHV) Switchgear Manufacturing Facility, S3 Unit-II, in Nashik, Maharashtra, on June 4, 2026. This facility is an expansion of their existing S3 Unit-I and will manufacture EHV circuit breakers in the 33 kV to 245 kV range, significantly increasing the company's EHV circuit breaker manufacturing capacity by 80%. The new unit is equipped with advanced testing infrastructure, including 500 kV and 350 kV high-voltage testing laboratories, and is designed to meet the growing demand for power transmission equipment in domestic and international markets. The facility will serve critical sectors like utilities, railways, renewable energy, oil and gas, and transmission infrastructure projects, also supporting the company's export business. The commissioning represents a key milestone in CG Power's growth strategy, aligning with opportunities from grid expansion, renewable energy integration, and infrastructure development. The company has invested ₹39.49 crore in this facility, funded through internal accruals. This new plant is part of a larger greenfield project announced on October 29, 2025, with a total estimated cost of ₹748.20 Crores (net of taxes) to double its existing switchgear manufacturing capacity across Medium Voltage (MV) and Extra High Voltage (EHV) segments. Amar Kaul, Group CEO and Managing Director, stated that the facility enhances their ability to deliver world-class products at scale and reinforces their commitment to supporting evolving energy needs through innovation and operational excellence. The facility also incorporates energy-efficient systems, rainwater harvesting, and zero liquid discharge operations, reflecting the company's commitment to responsible manufacturing.
