GMR Power & Urban Infra Limited (GMRP&UI) announced that its wholly owned subsidiary, GMR Energy Limited (GEL), has incorporated a new wholly owned subsidiary named GMR Karnataka Renewable Energy -I Limited (GKREL). GKREL is established with the objective of developing renewable energy power plants in Karnataka. The current paid-up capital of GKREL is ₹5 lakh, consisting of 50,000 equity shares of ₹10 each subscribed by GEL. The incorporation of GKREL does not constitute a related party transaction, and the promoter/promoter group/group companies of GMRP&UI do not have any interest in GKREL beyond their indirect shareholding. GKREL was incorporated on February 28, 2026, and its business operations are yet to commence. The company operates in the renewable energy sector, specifically in the generation and transmission of power through renewable resources.
