Gujarat Narmada Valley Fertilizers and Chemicals Limited (GNFC) has announced a change in its Directorate. The Government of Gujarat (GoG), through its Energy & Petrochemicals Department, has appointed Shri Ashwini Kumar, IAS (DIN: 06581753) as a Director on the Board of Directors. This appointment is effective from January 27, 2026, and he will serve vice Shri S. J. Haider, IAS (Retd.). The appointment is subject to the approval of the Nomination and Remuneration Committee, the Board of Directors, and the shareholders of the Company. Shri Ashwini Kumar, IAS, is a senior officer with over 29 years of experience in public administration in the Gujarat cadre. He has held various responsible positions across State administration, focusing on policy formulation, program implementation, and institutional governance. His experience includes significant roles in district administration, secretariat-level policy, and leadership positions in Public Sector Undertakings and statutory bodies. He is known for his balanced, process-oriented, and outcome-driven administrative approach. Currently, he serves as the Principal Secretary to the Energy and Petrochemicals Department and has previously held key positions such as Principal Secretary to the Urban Development & Urban Housing Department and Secretary to the Chief Minister of Gujarat for over five years. GNFC confirms that Shri Ashwini Kumar, IAS, is not debarred from holding the office of Director by any order from SEBI or any other authority. The company will now proceed with the necessary statutory procedures and compliances to induct Shri Ashwini Kumar, IAS onto the Board.
