HCL Technologies Limited (HCLTech) has announced its achievement of the ISO/IEC 42001:2023 certification, demonstrating its leadership in Responsible Artificial Intelligence (AI). This certification validates HCLTech's enterprise-wide framework, known as the Artificial Intelligence Management System (AIMS), for the responsible development, deployment, and governance of AI. The AIMS covers AI lifecycle processes, including support for AI-enabled services and platforms such as the flagship AI Force platform, software engineering, IT operations, and business process services. It also aligns with evolving global regulatory requirements, including the EU AI Act. The ISO/IEC 42001:2023 standard is the first international standard for AI management systems, establishing a framework for managing AI across its lifecycle, emphasizing risk management, transparency, fairness, accountability, and continuous improvement. Schellman Compliance, LLC, an accredited certification body, issued the certification. Avani Desai, CEO of Schellman, noted that HCLTech's certification embeds responsible AI governance into its daily operations, setting a strong example for enterprise AI adoption. Vijay Guntur, CTO and Head of Ecosystems at HCLTech, stated that the certification provides independent assurance of responsible AI governance and reinforces the company's ability to support clients in deploying AI with confidence. HCLTech joins a select group of organizations with independently validated capabilities in managing AI at scale across the enterprise AI value chain. The company's consolidated revenues for the 12 months ending March 2026 totaled $14.7 billion (approximately ₹122,300 crore).
