HCL Technologies (HCLTech) announced the inclusion of three network automation RAN applications (rApp) in the rApp Directory by Ericsson. These rApps are designed for the Ericsson Intelligent Automation Platform (EIAP) and aim to expand HCLTech's contribution to open, standards-based RAN automation. The three rApps are: Traffic Balancer rApp, which analyzes network conditions and redistributes traffic to minimize congestion and reduce latency; Energy Optimizer rApp, which scales base station resources during low-traffic periods for energy efficiency without compromising service quality; and Network Slice Optimizer rApp, which allocates physical resource blocks to support multiple 5G network slices with distinct service-level requirements. Hari Sadarahalli, Corporate Vice President and Global Head, Engineering and R&D Services at HCLTech, stated that these rApps highlight the company's commitment to productizing network automation within standardized, open ecosystems. He further added that leveraging Ericsson's EIAP framework enables HCLTech to deliver modular, interoperable solutions that accelerate deployment, simplify integration, and drive efficiency across 4G and 5G networks, helping operators scale 5G and embrace autonomous networks. HCLTech is a global technology company with over 226,300 employees across 60 countries, offering services in AI, digital, engineering, cloud, and software. Its consolidated revenues for the 12 months ending December 2025 totaled $14.5 billion.
