HCL Technologies Limited (HCLTech) announced the expansion of Western Union's Global Capability Center (GCC) to Hyderabad, India. This new facility, inaugurated on January 27, 2026, by Western Union's CEO Devin McGranahan and HCLTech's CEO C. Vijayakumar, aims to accelerate Western Union's transformation through advanced AI-led innovation and a platform operating model. This GCC will function as a global hub for technology, engineering, and operations, working in conjunction with the existing Pune Tech Center. Its focus will be on developing next-generation payments infrastructure, enhancing digital consumer experiences, and building world-class capabilities, leveraging HCLTech's AI-powered solutions like AI Force™. C. Vijayakumar highlighted HCLTech's expertise in digital, cloud, and AI, emphasizing the partnership's role in driving business and technology transformation for financial services and GCCs. The collaboration is set to deliver measurable outcomes aligned with Western Union's 'Beyond' strategy, modernizing payment infrastructure and expanding consumer services.
