Concurrently, Mr. Arijit Basu has been appointed as the Part-Time Chairman of the Bank, effective January 31, 2026. Mr. Basu's appointment is for a period of three years, concluding on January 30, 2029, and is subject to shareholder approval. He holds a master's degree in arts from the University of Delhi and is a Certified Associate of the Indian Institute of Bankers. His extensive experience includes serving as Chairman of HDB Financial Services Ltd., retiring as a Board Member and Managing Director of State Bank of India, and previously as MD & CEO of SBI Life Insurance Company Ltd. He also holds directorships in other companies and advisory roles. The bank has confirmed that Mr. Arijit Basu is not debarred from holding the office of Director by any regulatory authority.
