Mahanagar Gas Limited (MGL) announced a change in its directorship and chairmanship, effective March 1, 2026. Shri Sandeep Kumar Gupta will be stepping down as Director and Chairman of the Company, following a withdrawal of nomination from GAIL (India) Limited. The company expressed gratitude for his contributions, guidance, and leadership. Concurrently, the Board of Directors, based on the recommendations of the Nomination and Remuneration Committee, has approved the appointment of Shri Deepak Gupta as an Additional Director. He will serve in the capacity of Non-Executive Non-Independent Director and will be designated as the Chairman of the Company. This appointment is effective from March 1, 2026, and is subject to shareholder approval and further orders from GAIL. Shri Deepak Gupta is a distinguished Mechanical Engineer with over 35 years of experience in the Oil & Gas sector, including significant roles in large-scale project management and business development, notably with the Dangote Refinery and HMEL Bhatinda Polymer Project. He is not related to any existing directors and is not debarred from holding a directorship by any regulatory authority.
