Medi Assist Healthcare Services Limited has provided an update regarding the search operation initiated by the Department of Goods and Services Tax (GST), Maharashtra, at its material wholly-owned subsidiary, Medi Assist Insurance TPA Private Limited. The search operation, which commenced on February 16, 2026, concluded on March 2, 2026. In furtherance of the previous disclosure dated February 17, 2026, the company has submitted its closing submission to the Department. The Department has stated that Medi Assist TPA is liable for unpaid tax amounts along with interest due to a supplier's non-compliance in remitting applicable taxes. Additionally, Medi Assist TPA was found liable to pay accrued interest on holdback amounts in customer invoices. To avoid penalties and further interest, Medi Assist TPA has paid a sum of ₹4.83 Crore, representing the aggregate amount of unpaid tax and interest for all alleged liabilities. This payment was made without prejudice to Medi Assist TPA’s rights and remedies under applicable law, including its right to seek recovery. The company stated that its business operations continue as usual and there is no material impact on the financials, operations, or other activities of the Company arising from this matter.
