Mukka Proteins Limited has announced a significant milestone with its Black Soldier Fly (BSF) based municipal wet-waste processing initiative in Bengaluru. The Company's 300 TPD wet-waste processing operations have been formally listed on the Verra Registry under Project ID 5893. This listing enables the project to progress towards Verified Carbon Unit (VCU) issuance under the Verra Verified Carbon Standard (VCS) program. The project has entered a mandatory 30-day public comment period, followed by an on-site assessment by an accredited validation and verification body to complete the VCS registration cycle. The VCU eligibility currently applies to the 300 TPD facility. Furthermore, Mukka Proteins has received approval to expand its processing capacity up to 1,000 TPD within Bengaluru's waste-management framework. This expansion is structured as a grouped project under the VCS program, allowing for phased inclusion of additional processing modules. As each phase is validated, additional carbon credits will be generated, strengthening long-term sustainability and revenue diversification. Mr. Kalandan Mohammed Haris, CEO & MD, stated that the Verra listing is a key advancement in their carbon credit roadmap, and the approved pathway to scale up to 1,000 TPD positions them to expand the platform significantly. He emphasized the company's commitment to circular-economy solutions and climate-positive waste management.
