Energy In Motion Limited (EIM), an associate company of Ravindra Energy Limited (RELTD), has signed a Letter of Agreement (LOA) with Contemporary Amperex Technology Co., Limited (CATL) for a supply partnership. Under this agreement, CATL will supply 0.5 GWh (500 MWh) of its Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) cells, specifically the upgraded CB7T0 cell Model & L324D06 battery pack platform, to EIM in India. These new battery systems are designed for heavy commercial vehicles and offer significantly higher cycle life and volumetric density compared to EIM's previous cell model. The packs will be configured into 400.6 kWh systems for integration into EIM’s E-Tractor 4x2 Ashwa series. EIM will be the first customer in India to use this new generation of CATL battery systems. EIM will customize these battery pack kits into swappable battery boxes suitable for India's high ambient temperature operating conditions. EIM is actively developing an electric heavy commercial vehicle ecosystem, including megawatt-scale charging and swapping stations across the country. Their first electric heavy vehicle, the Ashwa 55-ton e-tractor, was launched on August 1st, 2025. EIM has already established six heavy-duty swap stations in the Delhi-NCR region and the JNPA port area, with a daily capacity of 840 battery swaps. The company aims to have 40 operational heavy commercial vehicle swap cum charging stations by the end of March 2027. CATL, recognized as the world's largest battery manufacturer with a 39.2% share of the global power battery market in 2025 and a market capitalization of approximately $280 billion USD, will be the supplier. Mr. Narendra Murkumbi, Managing Director of EIM, stated that securing this world-class battery supply from CATL is a major milestone for EIM, ensuring the quality, reliability, and scale needed for network expansion and enabling long-haul commercial applications.
