Southern Petrochemicals Industries Corporation Limited (SPIC) has announced with profound sadness the sudden demise of Mr. E. Balu, aged 59 years, who was a Whole-time Director of the Company. Mr. Balu passed away on 28th February 2026. Mr. Balu had a distinguished career spanning over 34 years in the fertilizer industry. He joined SPIC as an EMS trainee on May 1, 1991, and was transferred to Greenstar Fertilizers Limited (GFL) in 2011 following a business transfer agreement. He was appointed to the Board of SPIC as a Whole-time Director in July 2023. His expertise included plant operations, project implementation, process improvements, product initiatives, safety protocols, and statutory adherence. He also served as the Chairman of the Fertilizer Association of India, Southern Region. The company stated that Mr. Balu's unexpected passing is an irreparable loss, and the Board of Directors and all employees extend their deepest sympathies to his family. The announcement was made in compliance with Regulation 30 of SEBI (Listing Obligations & Disclosure Requirements) Regulation, 2015.
