Tata Technologies has announced the launch of the 4th edition of its engineering innovation hackathon, InnoVent-27. This year, the initiative is strengthened by collaborations with Emerson’s Test & Measurement business and Amazon Web Services (AWS). The hackathon's theme is ‘AI at the Edge’, challenging students to develop AI solutions for Automotive, Industrial Heavy Machinery, and Aerospace sectors. The focus is on deploying localized, real-time intelligence to enhance performance, safety, sustainability, and autonomy. Entries are open to 3rd and 4th-year engineering students, with a special encouragement for women engineers and differently-abled members. The evaluation process includes concept screening, virtual PoC presentations, and final prototype demonstrations. Top teams will receive cash prizes totaling ₹4.5 Lakhs, job opportunities at Tata Technologies, AWS Kits, and sponsor awards. All teams reaching the POC stage will get participation certificates. Komal Chhabra, SVP - Strategy, Marketing & Corporate Development at Tata Technologies, emphasized the initiative's role in nurturing talent and driving innovation in engineering. Representatives from Emerson and AWS also highlighted the importance of edge AI and cloud support in transforming industries.
