United Spirits Limited has announced the proposed closure of its manufacturing unit located in Malkajgiri, Hyderabad. The estimated closure date is August 31, 2026, subject to receiving necessary statutory approvals. This closure is part of a multi-year Supply Chain Agility Program approved by the Board on January 24, 2023. The program, previously disclosed through a press release and financial statements, involves transferring the excise license issued by the Telangana Prohibition & Excise Department to another party. Following this transfer, factory operations at the Hyderabad unit will cease. During the financial year 2025-26, the Hyderabad unit contributed approximately 2% to the company's revenue from operations, amounting to around ₹599 crore. The company has filed the disclosure under Regulation 30 of SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015. The delay in disclosure was attributed to the time required for verification of facts with internal stakeholders.
